How to Use Staffly

A quick guide to getting set up and using the bot day-to-day.

Getting Started

Invite Staffly to your server from the home page. It sets itself up automatically, no commands needed. Once invited, the server owner (or a Discord Administrator) can log in at StafflyBot.com with Discord, and it'll already be listed under "Your servers."

Setting Up Tracking

Open your server's dashboard and go to Settings. From there you can:

  • Choose which roles count as "staff" (Tracked Roles): only members with one of these roles are tracked
  • Optionally limit tracking to specific channels, or ignore certain roles/channels entirely
  • Tune spam and AFK detection thresholds
  • Set a Log Channel and a Staff Channel for notifications and flag reviews

Changes take effect within a few minutes automatically, or immediately by running /sync in Discord.

Setting Quota Targets

On the Quota Policies tab, add one row per role with a voice-hour and message-count target and how often it resets (daily, weekly, monthly, or manual). Staff automatically get a DM when they hit their quota for the period.

Discord Commands

  • /setup: re-confirms the dashboard connection (rarely needed, since joining does this automatically)
  • /sync: forces an immediate refresh of settings, quotas, and tracked members
  • /myquota: any staff member can check their own progress
  • /quota-reset: manually resets a staff member's current period (also clears their flags)
  • /addadmin and /removeadmin: server owner only, grants or revokes an individual's dashboard access

Reviewing Flags

Spam and AFK detection raise flags automatically. If a Staff Channel is set, each flag posts there with a button to mark it reviewed or reopen it, no need to open the dashboard. Flags are also listed on the Flags tab, and clear automatically whenever that person's quota period resets.

Controlling Who Can Manage the Dashboard

By default, the server owner and anyone with Discord's Administrator permission can access the dashboard. On the Access Control tab (owner only), you can also grant access to specific roles, or use /addadmin in Discord to grant it to an individual person.
